# Student Portal Overview

> Welcome to the Essal Institute Student Portal Help Guide. Access your classes, schedules, and grades in one place.

The **Student Portal** (available at [app.essal.institute](https://app.essal.institute)) is the central digital hub for all students at Essal Institute. It is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA), meaning you can install it on your mobile device or desktop for offline access and native push notifications.

## What Can You Do in the Student Portal?

The portal is designed to provide you with all necessary tools for academic success:

* **Schedules & Calendars:** View your training sessions, class calendars, and schedule updates in real-time.
* **Attendance Tracking:** Check your electronic attendance logs (Present, Absent, Late) to ensure you remain within the Institute's limits.
* **Grades & Progress:** Access evaluation marks, practical project results, and end-of-semester transcripts.
* **Course Materials:** Download files, assignments, and slides uploaded by your instructors.
* **Administrative Requests:** Submit digital requests for school certificates, transcripts, or internship conventions.

## Authentication & Access Restrictions

To maintain security and academic integrity, the portal has specific access controls:

* **Domain Restriction:** Login is restricted strictly to email addresses within the official **@essal.dz** and **@essal.edu.dz** domains.
* **Account Activation:** Your login credentials (email and a temporary password) are generated by the administration upon complete registration and sent to your personal email.
* **First-Time Login:** On your very first login, you will be automatically redirected to the **Forced Password Change Flow** to secure your account.
