1. Access & Initial Sign-In
To access the portal, navigate to app.essal.institute on your web browser or open the installed app.Log-In Credentials
- Username: Your official Institute email address (ending in
@essal.dzor@essal.edu.dz). - Password: Use the temporary password sent to your personal email by the administration.
First-Time Password Change Flow
For security compliance, all accounts must change their temporary password upon first login:- Enter your temporary credentials on the login screen.
- You will be automatically redirected to the Update Password page.
- Enter your current temporary password, then choose a new strong password (minimum 8 characters, including letters and numbers).
- Click Save and Continue to access your dashboard.
2. Navigating the Student Dashboard
Upon successful login, you will see your personalized student dashboard:- Active Enrollments: A summary of your current training courses, levels, and progress status.
- Attendance Summary: A visual progress ring showing your attendance percentage.
- Recent Notifications: Alarms or updates regarding schedule changes, class postponements, or document approvals.
- Navigation Menu: Located on the left (on desktop) or bottom bar (on mobile) for quick access to your Calendar, Attendance, Grades, and Documents.
3. Class Schedule & Calendar
The portal integrates a visual calendar showing all your scheduled training sessions:- Click on Calendar in the navigation menu.
- Select your preferred view: Weekly, Monthly, or List view.
- Each block displays the module name, instructor, time slot, and assigned classroom number.
- Rescheduled Sessions: If a session is postponed or canceled, it will be marked in red with the updated details.
4. Attendance Tracking
Attendance is tracked electronically for all sessions.- Marking Attendance: Your instructor will mark your attendance digitally (Present, Absent, or Late) at the start of each session.
- Viewing Status: Go to Attendance in the portal to see your overall presence rate and detailed breakdown per module.
- Lateness: Three (3) instances of being marked “Late” are equivalent to one (1) “Absent” mark.
- Attendance Warning Thresholds:
- First Warning: Automatically triggered if attendance drops below 85%.
- Exclusion Threat: Triggered if attendance drops below 75%. This can lead to exclusion from final examinations.
- Submitting Justifications: If you miss a class, you can upload your medical certificate or administrative excuse directly via the portal under Attendance → Submit Justification.
5. Grades & Academic Transcript
To review your performance:- Navigate to Grades & Marks.
- Select the training program or semester you wish to inspect.
- You will see a detailed list of modules, continuous assessment scores (projects, quizzes), final exam marks, and final averages.
- Once semester results are officially validated, a downloadable PDF transcript will be available.
6. Downloading Course Materials
Instructors routinely upload slides, exercises, and code examples:- Go to My Courses and select the active module.
- Click on the Resources tab.
- View the list of shared files and folders.
- Click Download on any resource to save it to your local device.
